magnolia with long curls

30 Oct

Photobucket

All I can say is that when I actually try and have the time I can produce a nice card! Actually it helps when you have stamps like these (or someone is nice enough to stamp some for you to play with). This is 2 stamps, magnolia with long curls as well as what is known as ‘the open gate.

On this card I have embossed the background paper and handmade the flower. The leaf is a glass bead. It is coloured with copics (skin only) and markers.

covered post it note holder

post it note holder

I made these for the school fete. They were such a hit that I have had to make a few more for birthday presents.

I can not take credit for this idea of the covered post it note holder, however, I would like to say thank you to the inventor, the idea is lovely.

robot card andwrapping paper – boys cards

robot wrapping paper

These were specifically created for boys but yes they could be used for girls too. The card is made entirely from kaisercraft except for the stamps and the same for the wrapping paper except for the ribbon and the paper.

If you want to make these, make sure you use a 3d foam of some sort to raise  sections to give plenty of depth.

This card will not stand the right way. I am sure it is not me.

  • stamp: heidi grace, stampin’ up
  • paper: basic grey
  • other: gems

The side diecut uses tim holtz alterations on the edge.

Napkin art!

This card was made using napkin art (serviette).

Both the card and the astronaut are made from napkins. Unfortunately though you can not see how he is raised off the card.

emily’s magnolia card

emily's magolia card

A birthday card that I made for a special 7 year old girl.

  • paper: kaisercraft
  • stamps: magnolia, stampin’ up
  • other: magnolia dohickey die, glitter (went a little overboard here), kaisercraft pearls

Grunge card

Photobucket

This card I created especially for the ‘Bizzy Bec’s’ Grunge competition.

  • stamp: kiki and puppy (CC designs), magnolia lamp post
  • ink: tim holtz distress ink – weathered wood
  • colours: copics and unknown markers
  • paper: ruby rock it
  • other:cardboard, gems, dmc thread

I know, I know,  not overly grungy but ….

magnolia ballerina

magnolia ballerina1

I love this stamp it reminds me of another little girl who loves to dance.

  • paper: kaisercraft
  • colours: watercolour pencils, copic pens (E50,51,53)
  • assorted glitter

I used a scallop punch for the roses and the new magnolia cherry lace dohickey die. I have however realised I haven’t inked the edges of the background picture, this would be worthwhile doing, it would take that brightness off it.

unusual 1st birthday gift – paint tin

19 Oct

elijah3

This was a very recent creation. It was made as a 1st birthday present for a very special little boy. It is actually a clear plastic paint tin, so there are no issues with glue, dust or rust. The paper can be decorated as desired and inserted into the tin. This tin is a 10L tin.

It was made with the intention that it would hold special keepsakes from the first year, but it really could be made and used for anything. The main thing I would suggest if you do something similar consider using photos over the appropriate time span i.e. 1 year – then use photos from birth to 1st birthday.

glasses case

sarah g case

just wanted to jazz up an already pretty case for a special little girl.

I sketched the bird onto the felt, stitched around him and then sewed him on with a couple of pretty little extra beads.
